As an author, Sherry has written children's books as well as articles for parenting publications. Her book, That Mama is a Grouch, was honored as a finalist in the Parenting/Family category of the 2010 USA Book News Awards and as a finalist in the Parenting/General category of the 2011 International Book Awards. It was also awarded first place in the Parenting category of the 2011 Pinnacle Book Awards and was the recipient of the silver award in the 2013 Mom's Choice Awards.
Sherry is also a professional musician who plays and teaches violin, viola, and piano. She has appeared as a soloist in Germany, and was a semi-finalist in the 2004 International Viola Competition held in Paris, France.
Sherry is a lifetime member of Cambridge Who's Who and was honored as a 2010 VIP of the year. In 2012, she was honored as a Woman of the Year by the American Biographical Institute for her contributions in the field of music education. Sherry was the recipient of the 2013 Top Professional of the Year award given by Worldwide Who's Who and has been recognized as a Top 100 Professional by the International Biographical Institute.

Surviving Those Sleepless Nights
It is three o'clock in the morning and you are sitting in the rocking chair with your precious little bundle of joy. Normally you would be savoring the moment, but this is the fourth time that you have been awakened. You need sleep! Does this sound familiar? If so, you are not alone. Here are a few tips to help you get through those sleepless nights without losing your marbles.
Work in shifts. Take turns getting up throughout the night with your husband. Sharing the responsibility means that you get larger chunks of sleep. This in turn means that you feel much better in the morning. If your husband complains that he has to work the next day, and that he needs sleep in order to perform well, ask him to get up on the weekend nights so that you have at least a couple of nights where you get a little break. Also ask him to watch the baby on the weekends so that you can nap during the day.
Sleep when the baby sleeps. You have probably heard this advice already, but it is worth repeating. The dishes and laundry can wait. It is more important that you rest whenever you can. Otherwise you will be too tired and worn out to do anything.
Make time for youself. You might be thinking that you barely have time to use the bathroom. How will you ever be able to make time for yourself? Try to at least find time to put on your makeup. That way, when you look in the mirror, the face staring back at you won't look quite as tired as you feel. You would be surprised; just that little thing can really lift your spirits. If you have the opportunity, indulge in a massage or a long bubble bath. These little pleasures can help you relax and rejuvenate.
Make time to do things that you enjoy. Maybe you enjoy a hobby. Maybe you have a special place you like to visit. Find time to do these things, even if it means hiring a baby sitter once in a while. It will save your sanity.
Exercise at least three times a week. Even if you cannot get away from the baby, you can still take her for a stroller ride around the block. On those days when the weather keeps you inside, turn on some music and dance around with your little one in your arms. Exercise is a great stress-buster. It will help keep you in shape too.
Go on a date. At least once a month do something special with your husband. Even if you cannot leave the house, plan something for the two of you to do together once the baby is asleep. It is important to stay connected through these trying times.
Talk to other moms. It helps to know that you are not the only one experiencing the joys of sleep deprivation. Contact you local hospital for information about various mom groups that meet in your area.
Talk to your pediatrician. He or she may be able to give you advice that will help you and your baby sleep better.
If you think that you will positively go crazy if you lose any more sleep, or you think that you may hurt your baby because of it, get help immediately. Let someone else watch the baby and call your doctor.
The important thing to keep in mind is that eventually your baby will sleep through the night and all of those sleepless nights will become a distant memory. Until then, follow these tips and enjoy your little one. Babies grow up so quickly. Strange as it may sound, when your chldren are older, you will find that you actually miss the times spent holding them in the rocking chair at three o'clock in the morning.
