The Mom's Choice Awards has named, That Mama is a Grouch, among the best in family-friendly media, products and services. It is the recipient of the silver award.
The Mom's Choice awards is an international awards program that recognizes authors, inventors, companies, parents and others for their efforts in creating quality family-friendly media, products and services.
Parents, educators, librarians and retailers look for the Mom's Choice Awards Honoring Excellence seal of approval when selecting quality materials for children and families.
An esteemed panel of judges includes education, media and other experts as well as parents, children, librarians, performing artists, producers, medical and business professionals, authors, scientists, and others. A sampling of the panel members includes: Dr. Twila C. Liggett, ten-time Emmy-winner, professor and founder of PBS's Reading Rainbow, Julie Aigner-Clark, Creator of Baby Einstein and The Safe Side Project, Jodee Blanco, New York Times best-selling author, Priscilla Dunstan, creator of the Dunstan Baby Language; Patricia Rossi, hose of NBC's Manners Minute; Dr. Letitia S. Wright, D.C. host of the Wright Place TV Show, and Cathering Witcher, M. Ed., special needs expert and founder of Precision Education, Inc.
MCA judges are bound by a strict code of ethics which ensures expert and objective analysis free from any manufacturer association. The evaluation process uses a propriety methodology in which entries are scored on a number of elements including production quality, design, educational value, entertainment value, originality, appeal and cost.

Sherry Ellis was named one of the International Biographical Centre's Top 100 Professionals for 2013. IBC is an organization located in Cambridge, England that recognizes outstanding professionals, both famous and uncelebrated, from all disciplines, who work daily to make a difference. They are selected through recommendations of colleagues and peers, and are considered to have made a significant contribution in their field to engender influence on a local, national , or international basis.

Sherry Ellis was honored as a 2012 Woman of the Year for her contributions in the field of Music Education by the American Biographical Institute, an organization which recognizes outstanding professionals.
Sherry is a private studio teacher who has been teaching violin, viola, and piano for over twenty years. She is a member of the American String Teachers Association as well as the Ohio String Teachers Association. She has previously served as a Secretary on the OSTA Board of Directors, and is currently serving as Vice President/ President-Elect.
Sherry has been a clinician at Ohio Music Educators Association Conferences. She is the chairperson for the Ohio ASTACAP committee and has organized several ASTACAP examinations for string students in the Cincinnati area.

Sherry Ellis was a guest on the IEY Radio station, where she spoke with Claire Power Murphy, director of the Self Rejuvination Center, about raising children with good character. She discussed some of the challenges with raising children in today's society, as well as offered tips for guiding children along the right path.

Sherry Ellis recently visited the fifth grade students at McCormick Elementary School in Loveland, Ohio. She shared with them her experiences as an author, read from her two published books, and her current manuscript, Bubba and Squirt's Big Hole to China, and answered questions they had about writing and becoming a published author.
